Our invitation to you
If your mission and values as a psychiatric rehabilitation support provider resonate with connecting people to outlets for healing and resilience, whole health, and inclusive community participation—we heartily invite you to connect with us! Through grant funding from The New York State (NYS) Office of Mental Health (OMH), our team at the CRR collaborates with NYS mental health support providers through training and technical assistance in psychiatric rehabilitation.
At this time, we offer live virtual training through Zoom, which is open to all NYS mental health support providers. We offer free continuing education units (CEUs) for licensed social workers (LMSW/LCSW), licensed mental health counselors (LMHC), and as applicable to each training session, credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselors (CASAC).
Check out the video kick-off for our new focus on wellness and community inclusion
Driven by the values of equity, psychiatric rehabilitation, and community inclusion, our team provides training to promote healing and to mobilize the re-imagining of systems that would support people’s journey toward taking greater control over their own lives. We strive to uphold the principles that:
Learning is an open, safe space for everyone
Interactions appreciate intersectionality, and are anti-oppressive/trauma-responsive
Individuals have the right to define their lives and be celebrated for their uniqueness and strengths
Whole health operates at the individual, community, and systemic levels
We regularly aim to:
Embody our shared personal values of transparency, authenticity, and relationship-building in training and beyond
Provide presentations that are open to incorporating new information/perspectives and challenge norms, biases, systems, each other, and ourselves
At present, our technical assistance aims to support the mission and vision of Personalized Recovery-Oriented Service (PROS) programs, Adult Behavioral Health Home and Community-Based Service (BH HCBS) providers, and Community-Oriented Recovery Empowerment (CORE) service providers.

Spotlight oN PROS Curriculum Champions
This six-session learning collaborative has offered a space for NYC PROS teams to dive deep into PROS group curriculum building from start (brainstorming) to finish (facilitation)! Sessions have been designed to address barriers to group curriculum development, explore the nuances of lesson planning, ensure alignment with PROS service categories, offer tips and tools around group curriculum building, and allow group curriculum champions a chance to pilot their skill-focused group activities in a safe and encouraging virtual community learning space.
